When the game of Mah Jong was introduced in the United States in early 20th century, small alphanumeric identifiers were added on the tiles to make them more recognizable to Western audience. The letters on the Dragons, however, are of the Chinese origin, "C" on Red Dragons stands for the kanji letter "chun" , "P" on White Dragon comes from pai pan (white tile), and "F" on Green Dragons stands for the kanji letter fa.
To display or hide tile identifiers:
Note: The setting is saved in the system registry and retained between sessions. Notice too that the option is not available with custom tile bitmaps.
